Montana Skatepark Association : On Deck 4
Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009
This year’s On Deck IV Skateboard Auction has something for everyone. Art for the arty, skateboards for the skaters and donations to charity for the charitable. If you’re a charitable skating artist than this is simply a no-brainer. They chose 50 artists including Stewart+Brown staffer Laura Devendorf whose board is shown above to paint skate decks to auction on behalf of the Montana Skate Association. Even if you’re not a Montanan you still have a chance to score these boards through online bidding and there are so many cool ones to choose from. The Montana Skate Association was started from the ground up by a group of driven twenty-somethings who were fed up with absence of free and legal to skate and is now a full-fledged non-profit with every last dollar going straight to building and maintaining parks for the kiddos and grown-ups alike. If you are a Missoulan yourself, be sure to attend the live event on May 1st at The Badlander, 208 Ryman, Missoula MT from 5-10 pm.

We Won Treehugger’s Best Green Casual Brand!!
Tuesday, April 14th, 2009
Shown:
Cross Over Petal Dress
Treehugger just launched it’s first “Best of Green” edition and we just now found out that we won best casual fashion brand for women in the Fashion & Beauty category! Treehugger is easily the most notable blog when it comes to all things green and we’re so proud to be featured. Writer Blythe Copeland says “For years, the phrases “eco-friendly” and “fashion” seemed almost mutually exclusive—but now, with organic fabrics, recycled fibers, and green production processes, we have (dare we say it?) almost too many brands to choose from. At least you know you’ll never go wrong with Stewart+Brown: The flirty ruffles on button-downs and polos; crisp tailoring on pants and shorts; and feminine draping on their dresses and skirts—along with policies that include the use of hemp silk, organic cotton, hemp jersey, and Mongolian cashmere—mean that, when it comes to your wardrobe, there’s never too much of a good thing”. Staff Favorites – Now with Haiku!
Tuesday, April 14th, 2009
Shown:
Mongolian Cashmere Tie Drape Shrug
This edition of staff favorite looks are as pretty as a word picture now that each look comes with its very own haiku. Now, I want to set the record straight that we at Stewart+Brown are no scholars of ancient forms of poetry so please go easy on us when it comes to haiku specifics. Other than that, they’re pretty fun. Our intern Emily chose the style above stating, “I am in-love with this eye-catching unique and feminine style. I love how you can dress it up or down and that it is the perfect layering piece for spring and all-year-round. This is a piece that will last forever and always compliment any outfit!” Check out the full story to see what each employee’s favorite style is this Spring.

How to Make Fabric Flowers
Tuesday, April 14th, 2009
One day, when working on a custom prom dress to benefit Teens Turning Green, Carol decided that it would be fun to make a corsage out of organic fabric and thus, the fabric flower was born. The flowers are great since you can make them out of scraps you have lying around and use them to pretty up gifts, make a flapper-ish headband, or whatever you want really. Their just plain crafty and she made a whole little how-to guide with a downloadable pattern and all so that you can make them too! Check it out.
