Eco Citizen – San Francisco, CA

We reported a few weeks ago on Huxley’s First Road Trip to Northern California during Mothers’ Day Weekend. The first dispatch focused on our test-driving of the Lexus 450RX hybrid SUV. This dispatch will detail the Stewart+Brown trunk sale we attended at the eco-fabulous Eco Citizen boutique in San Francisco.

Eco Citizen is a super cute and cozy shop located on Vellejo street and if you live in San Francisco and haven’t been there we highly recommend checking it out. Proprietress Joslin Van Arsdale fused her 10-years experience working in fashion, photography, textiles and fine art into the fair-trade / organic / sustainable business model that is Eco Citizen. Joslin’s cool, clean, green and sophisticated style is evidenced throughout her impeccably merchandised boutique. She’s been carrying Stewart+Brown since she opened the shop a few years ago and has built up a solid following for our brand. With that, we packed up the hybrid, loaded in the family, and headed north.

The Eco Citizen event was a great success. Karen brought her beautifully crafted sketchbook journals to share and everyone seemed to really enjoy them. There was a lot of chatting about the Stewart+Brown creative process and all-things green. The sale was also in support of Local non-profit Teens Turning Green who received a 10% donation from all Stewart+Brown Spring and Summer 2009 sales. Additionally, Zem Joaquin the founder and owner of Eco Fabulous and her wonderful team were in attendance as the media sponsor for this green event. Savory appetizers were provided and drinks were supplied by Organic Vinters and Blue Angel Vodka…and yes, free booze but everyone behaved!

We brought a few kids of our limited edition kids tees made out of
reclaimed graphic tee samples.

Hazel and Huxley had a blast…until Huxley got tired and had to leave (after breaking a mannequin and ripping a $300 dress!).

When you visit Eco Citizen you can snuggle on the quaint little wicker love seat in front of the shop.

When you buy a Lexus hybrid you get this book, and this book has a feature on Stewart+Brown so what more reason do you need to get a Lexus hybrid!
