4thheader

We’re Sarah and Kidada, new interns at Stewart+Brown and old friends pre-Stewart+Brown. Last weekend we were given the assignment to catalog our fourth of July for this newsletter so we decided make a trip out to a little town east of Ventura called Ojai, enjoy the scenery along the way and end the day with family, friends and fireworks. Check it out!

Step 1 : Pick The Perfect Outfit
With Stewart+Brown on the brain we each decided we each picked out our favorite lightweight, summery S+B dresses to spend the day photographing and being photographed in.

Garden Tunic

(Kidada – Above) I chose this look because it’s versatile and cute. I dressed with a sash belt and my favorite vintage shoes.

(Sarah – Above) I got this dress at the sample sale and it worked perfectly with red flats and a pearl necklace for that patriotic, all-American look I was going for.

Step 2: Paint the Town Red, White and Blue
So we set out on our adventure around town, taking pictures of things along the way. Everyone got in on the action from Sarah’s dog Duke to a little girl with a creative sense of style we might just copy some day.

Step 3 : Meet up With the Fam and Grub
Sarah’s family hosted a big party and everyone brought different culturally appetizing dishes. We chowed down on Sarah’s mixed berry spoon cake and vegan sugar cookies….and we ate real food besides deserts too.

Step 4 : Fireworks!!!!
It’s hard not to feel a sense of American pride watching the fireworks and it made us really appreciative of our accomplishments and opportunities. Sarah wants to get into graphic design and Kidada pursuits are in fashion journalism so together we’re both enjoying our time and learning a lot at Stewart+Brown. We’re looking forward to the future and many more 4th of July’s just like this one.
