Last January, we brought our new favorite photographer Nicholas Haggard back for his third Stewart+Brown photoshoot. Since we last shot with Nick, he’s made the big migration back to Los Angeles from New York. We upped the ante a bit on this shoot with moody colored back drops and Masha, our new best friend and Russian model extraordinaire! Without giving away too much, we carefully selected a few out-takes from the event. As I type this, Nick is on his way back in a few days to shoot Spring 2012 for us…can’t wait!

Spring 2011 Photoshoot: Behind-the-Scenes

Way back in August, we put together an awesome little 2 day photoshoot for the Spring 2011 collection. It was the first time we had worked with Brooklyn based photographer Nicholas Haggard . We’d been wanting to work with Nick for a few years so when the opportunity came along, we jumped on it. Nick’s cool, casual demeanor was a perfect fit for this So Cal beach town team. And as it turned out, Nick attended college at UC-Santa Barbara, just up the PCH from the Stewart+Brown design studio.

Best of 2009

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

Here at Stewart+Brown we like to think of the New Year as a blank canvas
full of possibilities. We make our resolutions and set our hopes high for
the coming seasons. So as we say goodbye to winter, and hello to spring, we
figured what better time than now to reminisce with our co-workers about the
year that was 2009. And here are our picks in pictures.

Styling Sneak-Peek : Fall Collection

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

Howard Brown, Karen Stewart and Wyatt Hough look in to see how the shoot is going.

Although we have just released our Spring 2010 collection to the public, we are so excited about our up-and-coming Fall collection, that we thought we’d give you a sneak peak of the behind the scenes from the Fall photo shoot. We also have made some changes with the design team here at Stewart+Brown. Introducing our newest team member Wyatt Hough. Wyatt, originally from Ventura, attended MICA, the same place Karen attended, before finishing his fashion design schooling at Parsons in New York. Both Karen and Wyatt offer a different type of styling that give the collection a defined new look and versatility.

Hazel Stewart Brown was born in 2002, the same year that her parents, Karen Stewart and Howard Brown, founded their pioneering eco-fashion label. Stewart + Brown, which they pronounce “Stewart Brown,” rather than “Stewart and Brown,” was named not after themselves but for Hazel—and six years later, for her brother, Huxley, as well. Here, the budding eco-fashionista hones her journalism skills by interviewing Stewart + Brown’s co-founder and design director, whom she happens to know by another name: Mom.

Park City: Fashion in the Mountains

S+B loves the mountains and loves places that we call home. Recent add-on S+B intern, Jennifer Steinwurtzel flew back “home” to Park City where she joined forces with her mother to host the first Park City Trunk Show. The crowd ranged from yoga aficionados to inspiring humanitarians. But all had one common interest – a love of clothing, and even more so a love of sustainable clothing. The setting was perfect looking out over the picturesque Wasatch mountain range that make up Park City’s world class ski resorts. Hot items were of course our luxurious and wearable cashmere collectionas well as the merino sweater coats.

I Love You S/S Tee

Today, Paris and I wore the same “I Love You” tee to work (and to coffee where we no doubt looked a bit “I love you” cultish to the outside observer). I thought it’d be cute to do a little “who wore it better” so…who wore it better? Head on over to our facebook page to voice your opinion.

Way back in February we did our autumn / holiday photo shoot. The shoot took place at the home of our photographer Nancy Neil. The house was originally built out of railroad ties at the beginning of the 1900’s and has tremendous character and warm, cozy feeling. We felt it was perfect for our collection. Check out all the shots here as we pull back the curtain and unveil Autumns brand new looks and a sneak peak of what really goes on behind the scenes of our shoot
